KUALA LUMPUR: A dirty car is the bane of all motorists, which is why Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia is providing free car washes from now until tomorrow as a gesture of appreciation to Malaysians.
Held at Desa ParkCity’s Plaza Arkadia outdoor carpark 3 here, the first 100 drivers who turn up can expect to receive a complimentary exterior and interior cleaning of their cars as they enjoy free refreshments provided by GWM.
Named the “The Great Wash for Malaysia”, drivers can also receive a free Touch ’n Go RFID card with free on-site fitment – all under a fully sheltered setup to shield visitors from the ongoing rainy weather.
The free car wash and goodies are open to non-commercial passenger cars, on a first-come, first-served basis, for the first 100 drivers.
Drivers who need to work remotely can do so while their cars are being washed as a number of small desks are available at the venue, with power points provided.
Car enthusiasts can also view and test drive GWM Malaysia’s newest models, such as the Haval H6 HEV, the first Malaysian completely-knocked-down (CKD) model.
Held as part of GWM Malaysia’s third year anniversary, GWM Malaysia chief operating officer Roslan Abdullah said the event was designed to be meaningful, practical and accessible to all.
“We wanted to thank GWM vehicle owners that have supported us over the last three years as well as give back to the community.
“A car wash is symbolic of renewal, care and preparing for future journeys, and reflects better with our ‘Go With More’ ethos to provide more care, more connection and more meaningful experiences.
“This car wash is not only practical for Malaysian motorists but also symbolises a fresh start as we enter the next chapter of our growth in Malaysia,” he said yesterday.
With Touch ’n Go collaborating with GWM as the event planner, Roslan said the partnership will enhance the experience for visitors.
This includes the sale of official Touch ’n Go merchandise at the event.
“Since cars require Touch ‘n Go and RFID for seamless highway access, and RFID is useless without vehicles, the technology and the motorists are complementing one another,” he added.
To better serve Malaysians, Roslan said GWM will continue strengthening its presence nationwide with new models, more dealerships and enhanced after-sales support in the coming year.
This includes expanding its reach to over 50 more dealerships to provide more sales and service coverage.
“After-sales is also important, so we also plan to enhance our spare parts availability, service speed and customer touchpoints to reduce waiting period,” he said, adding that GWM Malaysia plans to hold more events of this type around the country in the near future.
“We are committed to serving all drivers and all users across different lifestyles, and we will continue listening to Malaysians’ needs and adapting our products accordingly.
“The Great Wash for Malaysia is our small gesture of appreciation to the community as we look forward to growing with Malaysian families and communities in the coming years,” Roslan added.
