From Tour To Grand Finale

Heritage in motion: Performers entertaining visitors with a cultural dance during the Johor edition of Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia.

THE final leg of the Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia (SKCCM) is set to take place at Imago Shopping Mall in Kota Kinabalu from Nov 14 to 16, marking the exciting conclusion of a nationwide tour celebrating the beauty, diversity and spirit of Malaysia.

Organised in collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and Star Media Group (SMG), the carnival carries the theme “Explore. Experience. Excite”, inviting Malaysians to rediscover the country’s hidden gems and reconnect with the sights, sounds and flavours that make Malaysia truly unique.

After successful stops in Pahang, the Klang Valley, Sarawak, Penang and Johor, the Sabah edition promises to close the journey on a high note, featuring a colourful mix of cultural showcases, travel deals and family-friendly entertainment – all under one roof.

Carnival highlights

The Sabah carnival will feature an exciting line-up of performances, exhibitions and activities that highlight Malaysia’s cultural richness and community spirit.

More than 80 exhibitors – including travel agencies, hotels, homestays, tourism operators, local product creators and craft entrepreneurs – will be participating.

Visitors can look forward to:

  • Cultural and traditional performances representing Malaysia’s diverse heritage;
  • A culinary showcase featuring classic dishes and local delicacies from across the country;
  • Travel booths offering attractive holiday packages and promotions for domestic destinations;
  • Craft and lifestyle markets highlighting handmade goods, local innovations and creative brands; and
  • Stage entertainment and contests with games, lucky draws and interactive sessions for all ages.

The event will also feature meet-and-greet sessions and appearances by popular celebrities, radio personalities and social media influencers, adding star power and excitement to the three-day celebration.

These special guests will engage with visitors through live performances, fan interactions and fun on-ground activities.

Tourism boost

Beyond the entertainment, SKCCM Sabah continues its mission to promote domestic travel and local entrepreneurship.

The event provides a platform for small and medium-sized tourism players – from homestay operators and tour guides to craftmakers and food entrepreneurs – to showcase their offerings to a wider audience.

By bringing together the public and industry partners in one venue, the carnival helps boost interest in domestic travel and encourages Malaysians to explore more destinations within the country.

Visitors will find exclusive deals and promotions that make it easier and more affordable to plan their next getaway, whether it’s a quiet retreat in the highlands, a culinary adventure in a new state, or a beach escape on one of Malaysia’s many idyllic islands.

The initiative also aligns with the country’s preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, focusing on sustainability, cultural appreciation and community-driven experiences.

Ultimate celebration

The Sabah edition serves as the perfect finale to SKCCM 2025 – a journey that has drawn over 200,000 visitors nationwide since it began in September.

Each location has offered a distinct regional flavour, from traditional showcases and artisan markets to interactive travel experiences that celebrate Malaysia’s people and places.

The carnival’s setting at Imago Mall provides easy access for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the festivities, sample regional cuisines and explore the many tourism products being promoted.

The weekend promises a lively atmosphere filled with colour, music and the unmistakable warmth of Malaysian hospitality.

Free entry

Admission to SKCCM Sabah is free, making it a great outing for families, tourists and weekend shoppers.

With its diverse mix of culture, entertainment and travel inspiration, the event truly offers something for everyone – from those planning their next local holiday to those simply looking to enjoy a fun and festive weekend.

As the final stop of the 2025 tour, SKCCM Sabah embodies the true spirit of the campaign – connecting Malaysians through shared experiences, celebrating cultural diversity and encouraging everyone to see and appreciate Malaysia with fresh eyes.
