Support from all needed to make national education agendas successful, says Fadhlina

NIBONG TEBAL: The two major national education agendas championed by the Education Ministry require the support of all parties, particularly parents, says Fadhlina Sidek.

The Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035 and the School Curriculum 2027 are part of the ministry's efforts to strengthen the country's education system and nurture a knowledgeable and competitive generation of virtue, the Education Minister said.

"We will start with preschool in 2026 and the agendas will directly impact our education. The efforts require everyone's support... and the community should be together with us in the effort of strengthening, and forming the character of our children," she said during her speech at the SMK Methodist Nibong Tebal alumni dinner on Saturday (Nov 8).

She added that the MOE will introduce the implementation of developing a student's character comprehensively from 2026, with an integrated approach using existing learning subjects.

The initiative will begin with preschool children next year before being expanded to primary school pupils. – Bernama
