Body of unidentified man discovered by river in Subang


SUBANG JAYA: A man's body was discovered near a river close to a private college in Subang on Friday (Oct 31).

Subang Jaya OCPD Wan Azlan Wan Mamat stated that the police received a call from the public regarding the discovery around 7.10pm.

“Initial checks at the scene found the body dressed only in a pair of trousers. Based on its physical condition, the victim is believed to have been dead for some time,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 1).

The identity and ethnicity of the deceased have yet to be determined, as no identification documents were found at the scene, he said.

"Due to the condition of the remains, a physical examination could not be conducted immediately.

"The body has been sent to the Forensic Department at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for post-mortem to determine the cause of death and identify the deceased," he added.

The case has been classified as sudden death

pending the full post-mortem and further investigation, he said.

"We urge anyone with information regarding the incident or missing family members to contact the Bandar Sunway police station at 03-5621 2222 or the Subang Jaya district police headquarters at 03-7862 7222 to assist with the investigation," he said.
