Dad uses hard-earned savings on scooter

PHOTOS and videos showing a poor father buying a scooter for his daughter with small notes and coins he had saved up have gone viral in India, Makkal Osai reported.

The father, who was identified as farmer Bajrang Ram from Chandigarh, was determined to get his daughter the scooter she wanted.

He saved up every rupee he could and walked into a motorbike showroom near their home in Jahspur with bags of coins and notes.

The shop manager and workers who were touched by the father’s story, did not turn him away but helped count the money.

He had managed to save up about 40,000 rupees (RM1,900) which was enough when combined with a loan.

A video of the father and daughter receiving the scooter and riding away happily has gone viral online, with users praising the shop employees for taking the trouble to help the duo.
