Sabah polls: BN willing to work with any party, says Zahid

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional is willing to work with any party to form the next state government, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Barisan chairman acknowledged that it would be unlikely for any single party or single coalition can form the state government on its own.

“So we are willing to work with any party which can help to implement change for the state of Sabah,” he said during a Mara event here on Saturday (Oct 18).

When prompted, Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin agreed that the chances of a single party or single coalition winning the majority to form a state government were slim.

“So Barisan needs to collaborate with another party if it wants to form the state government,” he said.

However, he did not answer when asked if this meant that it was willing to work with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) if both Barisan and GRS had the numbers.

“Who says GRS will win more seats?” he retorted.

Sabah Barisan and GRS have made it clear that they will not be working together in the coming state election, although both are partnering with Sabah Pakatan.
