Comedian happy to be home after leg amputation

COMEDIAN Sathiya was allowed to return home after 23 days of treatment following a surgery to amputate his left leg due to diabetes, Harian Metro reported.

His son Amani Nair said that his father, whose real name is Sathia Periasamy, had to undergo surgery on the leg to remove a blood clot.

“Before going under the knife again, his white blood count was too high, affecting his health,” said Amani.

“A second surgery had to be done on the amputated leg as there was a blood clot.”

According to Amani, Sathiya was very excited to go home.

“He was very happy to return home.

“He immediately hugged and kissed his two grandchildren,” he said.

Sathiya is a popular veteran comedian and has starred in various shows and programmes including Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu.

> Kosmo! reported that Nor Anis Halyatie Halim participated in the Cat Fashion Week competition with her cat, Evian, just for fun and without any expectations.

However, in a turn of events, Evian was announced as the champion of the competition, beating out several dozen other cats from all over Malaysia.

Evian was dressed like royalty with a blue robe and a crown and managed to impress the judges and audience.

They took home a trophy and cash prize worth RM5,000.

“I never thought we would win. At first, our participation was just for fun, considering this was my first time taking part in a competition like this,” Nor Anis said.

“The concept of nobility or royalty befits Evian’s character who is always treated like a king.

“I haven’t thought about his reward yet, but I might feed him some boiled chicken,” she added about her Ragdoll breed.
