Teenager killed, three injured in Labuan car crash


LABUAN: A 16-year-old boy was killed, while three others were injured, in a road accident involving a car in Kampung Lajau near here early Friday (Sept 19).

The victim, identified as Muhammad Shazlan, was trapped in the back passenger seat when the car crashed at about 1am.

Rescue personnel managed to extricate him from the vehicle, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others, Siti Roziana Roslan, 14; Mohd Sufree Sadatol, 20; and Mohd Nazrin Nazri, 19, sustained injuries and are being treated in the yellow zone of the Emergency Department at Labuan Hospital.

Labuan Fire and Rescue Department director Abdul Rahman Ali said the operations room received a distress call at 1.42am.

"Upon arrival, our personnel found that two of the injured had already been taken to hospital by an ambulance.

"Two others remained at the scene, one of whom, Muhammad Shazlan, was trapped in the passenger seat, while Siti Roziana was thrown out of the vehicle," he said, adding that the body was later sent to Labuan Hospital for a post-mortem. - Bernama
