FOR the past 12 years, she has been caring for her special needs grandson despite her own declining health.
Wan Rosnani Wan Mahmud, 67, became the 13-year-old boy’s caregiver after his father died and his mother had mental health issues, Sinar Harian reported.
He was a normal child at birth but he suffered a brain haemorrhage after he fell when he was just two months old.
“My grandson isn’t able to move or talk,” said Wan Rosnani, who lives in Gemas, Johor.
The boy is very much attached to her.
“If he is unwell, I have to cuddle him the whole day,” she said.
“It has been tough caring for him. But when he smiles, it gladdens my heart. When I am no longer around one day, I hope someone would be willing to take care of him. He deserves a life like any other person.”
> Singer Ziana Zain paid tribute to her father who had passed on, describing him as a tough critic of her shows but also “the greatest source of encouragement” for her and her siblings, Berita Harian reported.
She shared that her late father Zin Abdullah was overjoyed when he learnt that she, together with her brother Anuar Zain and their niece and nephew, Ernie Zakri and Syamel, would be performing at a concert in Kuala Lumpur in October.
“Abah was the one most excited about our concert. But sadly, he never lived to see it.”
Her father died on Tuesday at the age of 87.
Ziana recounted how her father had been with her since the early days of her career.
“Once, Abah took me to Klang to get some fabrics for a costume. Unfortunately, our motorcycle broke down near UiTM Shah Alam. We had to push it till we reached Section 11,” she said.
