KUALA LUMPUR: More than 95% of complaints about roads managed by the Works Ministry and its agencies have been resolved as of July 31, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
The Works Minister said 40,938 complaints have been received through the MyJalan system since 2023, with 12,459 related to roads under the ministry’s purview.
Here, 11,860 or 95.1% of the complaints have been resolved, with another 599 being investigated.
“The remaining 28,479 of the 40,938 complaints however, fall under the purview of the local authorities, Rural and Regional Development Ministry and state governments,” he said in his winding-up address on the 13th Malaysia Plan.
“This involves municipal roads, rural and agriculture roads, state roads and private roads,” he said, adding that the ministry employed a “No Wrong Door” policy.
On another matter, he said the Malaysian Highway Authority was targeting to build 30 new electric vehicle chargers along toll highways this year.
This would bring the total number of chargers to 112.
The minister added that as many as 164 of the ministry’s projects have been completed this year, with 33 being completed ahead of schedule.
