Pillion rider dies in North-South Expressway crash


REMBAU: A 69-year-old pillion rider died when her husband lost control of their superbike and crashed.

Deputy Rembau OCPD Dept Supt Azmi Ali said Zainab Abdullah died at 11.10 pm along KM231.6 of the North-South Expressway.

He said her husband, Ahmad Abdullah, a retired army member, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Alor Gajah Hospital.

Preliminary investigations indicate he lost control and crashed along the emergency lane.

Blood samples from the couple were taken and will be sent to the Chemistry Department for toxicology analysis.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
