Cops issue 57 summonses in traffic ops at Second Link Crossing

GELANG PATAH: Police issued 57 summonses to motorists during an operation at the Second Link Crossing in Tanjung Kupang on Thursday (Aug 7).

The operation, codenamed Ops Bersepadu (Potong Q), was jointly organised by the Iskandar Puteri Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Unit and the Johor Road Transport Department.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan reported that 88 vehicles and 94 individuals were inspected during the operation.

"Traffic offenders were issued summonses for queue jumping at the traffic lights of KM12.7 of the Second Link Crossing," he stated in a release.

ACP Kumarasan added that police have received public complaints about certain drivers who were impatient and engaged in queue cutting, posing risks to other road users.

"This stern action was taken as a deterrent against queue jumpers to ensure everyone follows the traffic regulations," he added.
