Man fails to fake wife and son’s death

A MAN in India killed his wife and son, and then staged it as murder-suicide, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The victims’ relatives and neighbours who were saddened by their deaths were left reeling by the brutal twist in the saga.

Kavin Prasad from Tamil Nadu had initially told police that when he came back from work, he had dinner with his wife, Amaravathi, 28, and their one-year-old son.

The 28-year-old said he later found his wife was not next to him in bed.

He claimed he was shocked to find that she had hanged herself and got neighbours to bring her body down.

The child’s lifeless body was found in a water tank in a bathroom, presumably drowned by Amaravathi before killing herself.

However, the police soon became suspicious of the husband.

Kavin eventually confessed to killing them, adding that he murdered his wife due to her behaviour.

The couple had been married for five years.
