Autistic student gets As in all STPM subjects

AN autistic boy became the best student of his school in Kelantan, after scoring a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 in the 2024 STPM, reported Berita Harian.

Alam Haikal Jansari Anuar, 20, of SMK Machang, had pursued business studies and scored As in all of his subjects.

In an interview, Alam Haikal said he had never considered autism to be a limitation but rather saw it as a challenge to excel academically.

“I believe every limitation has its strengths, and this success is a blessing from God, as well as the result of discipline and diligence in studying every day,” he said.

Alam Haikal added that he had dedicated a total of six hours a day to revising his studies during the afternoon and early morning.

“I use different study techniques for each subject. I am aware that I am not like others, so I need to tailor my study methods to my abilities,” he added.

Alam Haikal now aspires to become an educator to prove that autistic individuals can also be independent and successful if given the opportunity.
