Fatal traffic collision in Kuala Kangsar leaves one man dead


IPOH: A man died in a collision involving two cars, a lorry, and a pickup at Kg Merbau Tua, Kuala Kangsar.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said a distress call was received at 1.32pm on Thursday (June 19).

"Upon arrival, firefighters found that a car travelling from Kuala Kangsar towards Baling had collided head-on with a two-tonne lorry.

“Based on information from the public, the accident also involved two other vehicles: another car and a pickup,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

He said that the victim, Megat Muhammad Ikram Megd Adeni, aged 33, was pronounced dead by medical officers at the scene.

"The two men who were in the lorry sustained minor injuries, while a woman travelling in another car was unharmed.

"The condition of the driver of the 4WD vehicle is unknown, as the person drove straight to the nearest police station after the accident," he added.

The injured were sent to the hospital with an ambulance, while the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.
