Teacher in Alor Gajah affair controversy lodges report over leaked video

ALOR GAJAH: A 31-year-old female teacher at the centre of controversy surrounding an alleged extramarital affair has lodged a police report, claiming that an intimate video of her has gone viral.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the teacher lodged a report here recently as she was dissatisfied upon discovering that her intimate video had been circulated.

He said police have opened an investigation under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

"However, we have yet to trace the video in question," he said on Saturday (May 31).

Supt Ashari added that the investigation will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions.

On Friday (May 30), the teacher and a male wiring technician were each fined the maximum amount of RM5,000 by the Melaka Syariah High Court for attempting to commit adultery.

The case had previously attracted widespread attention on social media when the female teacher issued a public apology amid allegations of an affair with a 31-year-old married man, known online as "abang wiring".

The matter sparked public outrage after screenshots of lewd and inappropriate conversations between the two went viral on WhatsApp.
