KUANTAN: Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have extended their heartfelt greetings to the people of Sabah and Sarawak in conjunction with the Gawai Dayak and Kaamatan Festival celebrations.
In a post on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page Saturday (May 31), Their Royal Highnesses said the Kaamatan Festival and Gawai Dayak symbolise the rich cultural heritage and a spirit of gratitude for a bountiful harvest.
"The celebrations reflect the high value placed on unity and harmony among the diverse communities in the country," the post read.
Their Royal Highnesses added that the festivals represent efforts to preserve and uphold ancestral customs and traditions that form part of the nation's invaluable heritage.
"The spirit of cooperation, unity and mutual respect that is evident during these celebrations should serve as an example to all Malaysians in strengthening national unity and harmony.
"May this year's Kaamatan and Gawak Dayak festivals be celebrated with joy, while still upholding the values of moderation and safety. Let us all pray for continued peace, prosperity and well-being for our nation," it said. - Bernama
