MBSA to probe mysterious blast-like sound heard in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government will conduct a thorough investigation into an incident where a loud sound, similar to an explosion, was heard.

Selangor local government and tourism committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim said it was important to identify its source to prevent speculation among the local community.

Ng said there were complaints on social media of a loud noise that could heard from far away.

"An immediate investigation will be conducted to determine the source of the sound and address public concerns.

"We (the state government) view this matter seriously and will cooperate with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and the police to uncover the cause, which remains a mystery," he told a press conference here on Friday (May 23).

Ng added said there had been similar incidents, including one reported in Ipoh last October, the cause of which remains unknown to this day. – Bernama
