KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) faces accusations of political hypocrisy for condemning the use of the unity government secretariat’s letterhead in a recent announcement.

Sabah Umno strategic communications director Datu Rosman Datu Ahir Zaman (pic) described a recent statement by GRS deputy secretary-general Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali as “the highest form of political hypocrisy.”

“Before pointing fingers at others, Armizan should take a look in the mirror. GRS has consistently used the official Sabah state emblem in clearly partisan political statements, not once, but multiple times,” he said in a statement on Sunday (May 18).

He dismissed Armizan’s objection to the official announcement by the unity government secretariat, which claimed not all coalition parties were represented.

On Friday (May 16) Armizan stated that the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan electoral alliance for the forthcoming Sabah elections should not have been declared using the official letterhead of the unity government secretariat.

He said that official unity government letterhead and logos should only be used when all parties in the coalition are fully in agreement.
