PUTRAJAYA: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, is being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Putrajaya Hospital after reportedly suffering from food poisoning on Monday (May 5), reports Sinar Harian.
The Malay language daily said this had been confirmed by sources, who said that Mohd Na'im had been admitted on Tuesday (May 6).
The source also told Sinar Harian that the minister was in stable condition and was warded at the ICU for monitoring.
Mohd Na'im began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning on Monday and initially received treatment at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur before being discharged.
"However, his condition worsened on Tuesday before he received treatment at Putrajaya Hospital.
"Currently, he is in good condition," the source told Sinar Harian.
Meanwhile, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) Group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, who visited Mohd Na'im on Monday, also prayed for his recovery.
In a social media post, Irmohizam described Mohd Na'im as someone who serves as an example in strengthening Islamic values and fostering unity among Malaysians.
"At this moment, I, along with many others, pray that the Honourable Senator is granted a swift and complete recovery, and given the strength to resume his duties with full spirit and calmness.
"Our prayers and thoughts are always with the Honourable Senator. May he remain resilient and strong in facing this challenge," he said.
