Two children killed in motorcycle crash in Tangkak

TANGKAK: Two 12-year-old children were killed after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car along KM38 of Jalan Muar–Segamat.

Tangkak police chief Supt Roslan Mohd Talib said the accident happened at about 2.30pm on Saturday (April 26).

He said preliminary investigations showed the motorcycle, heading from Tangkak, is believed to have gone out of control and veered into the opposite lane before colliding with a car coming from the direction of Segamat.

"Both the rider and pillion rider, aged 12, were pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement on Sunday (April 27).

Supt Roslan said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

He also warned the public not to allow minors to operate motorcycles, whether inside residential areas or on public roads.

Earlier, a video was posted on the X platform under the username @update11111 showing the aftermath of the crash.
