IPOH: An 18-year-old teenager lost his life after the car he was in lost control and skidded into a waterway (tali air) at Chenderong Teluk Intan on Thursday (April 17).
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said a distress call was received at 2.29pm on Thursday.
“Upon arrival at the scene, we found that the accident involved a car that had lost control and plunged into the waterway.
“The vehicle was carrying four male passengers, all aged 18. Three of them were rescued by the public, while one was found dead at the scene," he said in a statement Thursday.
He added that the victim was not trapped to the vehicle and that his death was confirmed by the Health Ministry personnel.
Sabarodzi added that the operations commander applied the Saver (System Approach to Victim Entrapment Rescue) concept extricate the victim.
"Once the victim was removed from the vehicle, he was then handed over to the police for further action,” he added.
