Policeman found dead in apartment, heart blockage cited as cause


KAJANG: A 37-year-old policeman has been found dead at his home in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the deceased, who was attached to the Federal Reserve Unit, was discovered on Tuesday (April 15).

"A 20-year-old policeman lodged a report at 11.59am, stating that his colleague was believed to have died in his apartment unit.

"With assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department, who forced open the apartment door, police discovered the victim’s body," he said in a statement on Wednesday (April 16).

The body was sent to Kajang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"The cause of death was determined to be a heart blockage. The case has been classified as sudden death," he added.

He also urged anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Sjn Zharif Shah Ab Rashid, at 012-5925390 to assist with the investigation.
