MIC vice-president Datuk T. Murugiah has hit out at claims that the temple situated next to the MIC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur was illegally built, Malaysia Nanban reported.
He said the temple, which has a long history, was built on land belonging to the party.
It was originally behind the current party headquarters but was moved to the front as a larger building is being planned on the plot, he explained.
The temple is well known to “regulars” at the MIC headquarters and nobody should describe it as being illegal.
The report stated that there was a protest over the temple’s new location as it is now facing a surau in the Perkim building across the road and the protesters said they had sent their objections to DBKL and the Federal Territories Ministry.
> A woman sitting for an important government exam in Kerala, India, almost missed the test when a bird swooped down and flew off with her hall ticket, Makkal Osai reported.
She was apparently doing some last-minute revision for the Kerala Financial Code exam outside the venue in Thiruvananthapuram.
The bird, identified as a brahminy kite, then sat on a nearby ledge.
When the woman and other candidates who witnessed the incident shouted, the bird dropped the ticket before flying away.
The woman retrieved the hall ticket and sat for the exam.
