Datuk Nazri appointed new Pahang State Secretary


KUANTAN: Pahang State Finance Officer Datuk Nazri Abu Bakar has been appointed the new Pahang State Secretary, effective Tuesday (April 8).

The appointment letter was handed over by the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and shared on his official Facebook this evening.

"Just now, I have handed over the Letter of Appointment to Datuk Nazri Abu Bakar as the new Pahang State Secretary, effective April 8, 2025. I congratulate him on this appointment and wish him well in carrying out the duties entrusted to him," he said.

Nazri replaces Datuk Seri Zulkifli Yaacob, who retired after 36 years of service. He started his career as Assistant District Officer (Land) at the Jerantut District Office on Aug 1, 1989, and ended his service on Monday (April 7).

Meanwhile, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, in his Facebook post, said the appointment recognises Nazri's leadership, dedication and integrity, especially during his previous service as the Pahang State Financial Officer.

"I congratulate Datuk Nazri Abu Bakar on his appointment as the new Secretary to the Pahang Government. May all the tasks carried out be blessed and successful.

"I believe, with his experience and commitment, the state government administration will continue to function efficiently, effectively and transparently for the well-being of the people of Pahang," he said.

The presentation of the Letter of Appointment and the Oath-taking as the Pahang State Secretary will take place at Istana Abdulaziz here, on Wednesday morning (April 9). – Bernama
