Putra Heights inferno: 154 houses declared safe (Video)

SUBANG JAYA: A total of 154 houses in the area affected by the explosion along Jalan Putra Harmoni has been declared safe.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, at a press conference on Sunday, said that this followed a second, more detailed, inspection by the Fire and Rescue Department on Sunday (April 6).

“The department had made a second assessment that was more thorough. The assessment this time included a larger radius, which was 325 metres from the explosion site.

“A total of 219 houses were affected and of that 87 suffered more than 20% damage.

“Houses suffering below 20% damage have been approved for repairs (from their owners) starting today. Adding the additional 24 houses in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru that were found to be safe to inhabit, the total is now at 154 houses,” he said.

He added that 25 houses were found to be completely destroyed.
