PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of former Putrajaya MCA division chairman Datuk Koo Chin Nam.
The MCA president paid tribute to Koo, who passed away recently, highlighting his decades of unwavering dedication to the party.
"It is with a heavy heart that I paid my last respects to the late Datuk Koo Chin Nam," Dr Wee wrote on Facebook on Sunday (April 6).
Born in 1947, Datuk Koo was a respected lawyer with extensive experience in syariah law. He joined MCA in 1987 and remained a loyal and steadfast member until his passing.
Between 2005 and 2018, he served as the Putrajaya MCA division chairman, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to the party’s cause.
He also played a crucial role as deputy chairman of MCA’s Syariah law & policy implementation special task force, contributing significantly to the party’s legal perspectives and direction.
"Koo’s passing is a profound loss to both the party and the wider community. On behalf of MCA, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
"May you rest in peace. Thank you for your dedicated service and contributions to the party and the nation," Dr Wee added.
