Melaka Madani Hari Raya event to feature rainforest theme, says Chief Minister

MELAKA: The National-level Madani Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration 2025 at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh will feature a unique 'rainforest' concept, showcasing lush greenery and elements of Malaysia’s rich biodiversity, says Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

The Melaka Chief Minister stated that the rainforest theme aims to create an immersive and festive environment for all visitors.

"The hall will be beautifully and attractively decorated.

"The programme on Saturday (April 5) is a national-level event and will be opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by various Federal Ministers," he said during a live interview on MelakaFM on Friday (April 4).

Ab Rauf mentioned that the programme will introduce a 360-degree hall layout for the celebration, designed to accommodate between 8,000 to 10,000 guests at a time.

The event will also be graced by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam.

Ab Rauf encouraged locals to attend in traditional attire to enhance the festive spirit.

"Don’t worry about traffic congestion, as we have arranged for three shuttle buses to ease the journey for visitors throughout the event," he added.

Scheduled to run from 10am to 4pm, the celebration is a collaboration between the Melaka Government and the National Unity Ministry.

The programme aims to strengthen national harmony and foster a spirit of unity among diverse communities.

More than 100 dishes will be served across 80 stalls, with facilities in place to accommodate families and ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.

The event will also feature performances by top local artistes, including Anuar Zain, Ayda Jebat, Haziq Rosebi, Hazama, Zamani, and Yasser Fikri, who will perform evergreen Aidilfitri songs such as Suasana Hari Raya, Bersabarlah Sayang, Selamat Berhari Raya, Zapin Raya, Cahaya Aidilfitri, and Kepulangan Yang Dinanti.
