KUALA LUMPUR: Online purchase fraud cases soared by 36.9% from Jan 1 to Monday (March 24) compared with the same period last year, with 2,328 cases recorded, resulting in losses exceeding RM19mil.
Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) acting director Datuk Rohaimi Md Isa said during the same period last year, 1,700 cases were reported, resulting in losses amounting to RM13.66mil.
