Foreign man killed in early morning crash near Sandakan

KOTA KINABALU: A foreign man was killed in a horrific road crash involving two vehicles along Jalan Beluran-Sandakan early Tuesday (March 25) morning.

The 38-year-old was driving alone in a Perodua Kancil from Kota Kinabalu towards Sandakan when the incident occurred at around 6.20am at KM33 of the road.

Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Ahsmon Bajah said initial investigations showed the victim had attempted to overtake another vehicle in front but was forced to veer left due to oncoming traffic.

He then crashed into a Mitsubishi SUV that had stopped by the side of the road.

The victim died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
