Visits to drug rehab clients allowed in April for Aidilfitri

PUTRAJAYA: The National Anti-Drug Agency will hold special visit sessions next month for families and guardians of clients undergoing Institutional Treatment and Rehabilitation programmes at all Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centres nationwide in conjunction with Aidilfitri.

The visit session will be held for five days from April 7 to April 11 for Pahang, Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Federal Territories, Perak, Penang, Perlis, Sabah and Sarawak while for Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah it will be from April 6 to April 10.

"The visit aims to strengthen the bond between clients and their families or guardians, provide moral and emotional support, and offer them the opportunity to witness the progress of clients undergoing the programme," it said in a statement on Monday (March 24).

The agency added that the visits offer space and opportunity for families or guardians to reconnect with clients in a warm and supportive environment, serving as a therapeutic approach to aid in their recovery.

Those interested in attending the special visit sessions should contact their respective centre’s rehabilitation officers through phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp messages, letters, or emails.

The public can also reach out to the relevant rehabilitation centres for more information on the special visit sessions or contact the agency’s hotline at 1-800-22-AADK (2235) or 019-626 2233 (WhatsApp) for advisory services or to report drug-related issues. - Bernama
