Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the deceased, 18, who was part of a 10-motorcycle convoy, had crashed into the back of a trailer on Saturday (March 22) at about 1am.

"The deceased is believed to have lost control of the motorcycle and slammed into the back of the trailer, which was moving slowly on the emergency lane.

"Both the motorcyclist and vehicle fell to the ground after the impact," he said in a statement on Monday (March 24).

"The nine other motorcyclists, ages between 18 and 23, could not stop in time and crashed into the motorcyclist and his vehicle on the road," he added.

"They suffered various injuries, including some with broken bones and are still being warded," he said.

ACP Hasbullah said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He said the trailer’s driver has yet to lodge a report on the incident.
