Travel adviser arrested for road rage

KAJANG: A travel adviser was detained in connection with the assault of a secondary school student following a traffic dispute in Saujana Impian here.

OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 17-year-old lodged a police report at 9.24pm on Friday.

“The teenager claimed that he was attacked by an unknown man at about 2.15pm due to a misunderstanding when both of them were driving along the road.

“Due to the assault, the student suffered a broken nose before he sought treatment at Hospital Kajang.

“Investigations showed the victim did not have a driving licence and has been issued a traffic summons,” he said when contacted.

Police arrested a 39-year-old suspect at about 9.50pm on the same day.

Police have recorded statements of six people in connection with the case.

“Those whose statements were recorded included the victim, the suspect and several witnesses. We have obtained a one-day remand on the suspect.

“Background checks showed he has no criminal record,” said ACP Naazron.
