RM500 base fare ceiling for Raya flights to Sabah, S’wak

KUALA LUMPUR: Those looking to travel between the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations can expect base fares not exceeding RM500.

Anthony Loke (pic) said the ceiling prices are applicable for flights four days before the celebrations, adding that this initiative has been carried out for more than a year.

“This is available during all celebrations where the ceiling price of flight tickets will be capped for four days before the celebrations.

“The same applies for Hari Raya celebrations this year,” he told reporters after launching the second Sentuhan Madani kiosk at KL Sentral yesterday.

The Transport Minister also thanked airlines for their cooperation in offering fixed fares to Sabah and Sarawak ahead of the festive occasion, with some even going below the ceiling price.

“Any flights going back to Sabah and Sarawak will not exceed the base fare of RM500.

“This is an initiative by the Madani administration to ensure the price of flight tickets during festivities remains affordable,” he said.
