14-year-old secondary school student dies after collapsing at school


MELAKA: A 14-year-old student from a secondary school in Bukit Baru here, tragically passed away after collapsing on his way to his school's canteen.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit confirmed the incident, stating that the male student was a volleyball player who had participated in a sporting event on Friday morning (March 14).

He said the student was immediately rushed to Melaka Hospital at 11am on Fri(March 14).

"However, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful," he added.

The police have classified the case as a sudden death report, pending the results of the post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
