Ismail Sabri leaves MACC after giving statement

PUTRAJAYA: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters after having his statement recorded.

He was seen leaving under escort at 3.13pm.

While he waved to waiting pressmen, neither he nor his legal team addressed the media.

“Today, I was present at the MACC headquarters to give statements. I will continue cooperating with the authorities until investigations have been completed,” said Ismail Sabri.

Earlier today, he arrived at the MACC headquarters at around 9.45am.

This follows MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki's announcement on Tuesday (March 11) that Ismail Sabri was scheduled to record his statement on Thursday (March 13).

He confirmed that Ismail Sabri's medical leave certificate (MC) expires on Wednesday (March 12).

"He (Ismail) will arrive at our office at 10am on Thursday. As for the additional 23 witnesses, they will be called in gradually over the coming days to assist in the investigation," he said.
