PETALING JAYA: Civil rights group Lawyers for Liberty (LFL) has submitted crucial evidence to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding the alleged Sabah mining scandal.
The evidence is a pen drive containing the claimed unedited videos and a recording device.
LFL executive director Zaid Malek said he arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 2pm yesterday.
“I left at 4pm after having my statement taken.
“I handed over the pen drive containing the unedited videos and the pen camera used in the recording,” he added.
Asked if he might be required to return to give more statements, Zaid said he was not told so.
“We just want to present the evidence to urge MACC to investigate,” he claimed.
Earlier, LFL co-founder Latheefa Koya told a press conference that the evidence was given by a whistleblower.
She urged the government to protect the whistleblower, whom she claimed faced public threats after attempting to report the matter.
