Girl strangled to death for playing with neighbours

ENRAGED that his daughter had disobeyed his order not to play with the neighbour’s children, a man ended up strangling his child before cutting her into pieces.

Prior to her death in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh, the five-year-old girl, identified only as Thaani, had been told several times not to go to the house next door, Makkal Osai reported.

Her family had been close with the neighbours until a recent falling out.

When Thaani went missing, her family a filed a police report.

Four special police teams eventually found parts of her body at a padi field near the family’s home.

Subsequently, her 40-year-old father disappeared when police confirmed the girl’s murder.

He was found after a manhunt.

Under interrogation, he confessed to killing her after she went to play with the neighbour’s kids.

On the day of the murder, the father saw his daughter returning from next door, so he took her to the padi field, strangled her with a cloth, chopped up her body and disposed of her remains.
