KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,000 retired or soon-to-retire firefighters will receive free training to become certified workplace safety experts, giving them new career opportunities, says Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.

He said the training is a joint initiative between his ministry and the Human Resources Ministry to help firefighters transition into the corporate sector.
