February Auction Carnival 2025 sees strong turnout

THE February Auction Carnival 2025, a one-of-a-kind auction carnival, successfully concluded its inaugural edition last week after eight hours of seamless and competitive bidding.

Hosted at NCM Co. Auction Hall and the outdoor foyer of Megan Avenue 2, the Hybrid Auction attracted over 300 on-site and online bidders, offering them an exciting opportunity to bid across property, auto, and art categories.

The event, a joint collaboration between NCM Co., Owner Auction and Lapan Art Auction, once again proved to be a premier auction experience, bringing together buyers, investors, and art collectors under one roof.

With a diverse selection of properties up for grabs, bidders had the opportunity to secure deals on a wide range of assets, from a commercial property sold at just RM7,000 to the highest-value property sold at RM1.348mil.

Some newly completed units, featuring original developer fittings and partial furnishings, were sold to the highest bidders after aggressive bidding.

“We’re thrilled with the success of this inaugural Auction Carnival,” said Ng Chan Mau & Co Sdn Bhd director and auctioneer Low Chee Hian.

“The fusion of properties, automobiles, and art created a truly special atmosphere where serious collectors and casual bidders alike could experience the thrill of the auction process.

“It was an exciting celebration of value, creativity, and innovation that we’re eager to build upon for the next event,” he added.

Among the standout moments, the event shattered common misconceptions about auction vehicles.

Notable sales included a Mercedes-Benz CLA 180, which surpassed its RM125,000 reserve price through competitive bidding at RM154,000 and a 2023 Proton X70 that sold for nearly half the cost of a brand-new unit.

Additionally, the art auction featured exclusive collections from emerging artists such as Rull Mackenzie and direct consignment by reputable art galleries.

The event debunked myths about auctioned vehicles, including the sale of a Mercedes-Benz CLA 180, which surpassed its RM125,000 reserve price and closed at RM154,000.The event debunked myths about auctioned vehicles, including the sale of a Mercedes-Benz CLA 180, which surpassed its RM125,000 reserve price and closed at RM154,000.

The Owner Auction segment was conducted outdoors at the carnival, offering a hybrid bidding experience that drew a curious crowd, many of whom had never witnessed an auction before.

Live entertainment, including a dynamic lion dance performance, and on-site financial consultant booths further enriched the experience for attendees.

The excitement was further amplified as all successful on-site bidders walked away with free gifts, while the grand prize – a 65” TV – was awarded to the highest property bidder, and a water jet was presented to the top auto bidder.

The NCM Co. Auction Carnival has quickly become a must-attend event for anyone passionate about real estate, automobiles, and fine art.

Riding on the momentum of this successful edition, organisers are already planning for the next event, promising even more spectacular auctions and immersive experiences that will continue to redefine the way luxury assets are bought and sold.
