Daughter-in-law injected with HIV-tainted blood

A WOMAN secretly injected her daughter-in-law with HIV-tainted blood because her family refused to continue giving dowry after the wedding, Malaysia Nanban reported.

This was even though the in-laws had already given a car, plus 1.5 million rupees (RM77,000) in cash and jewellery, to the groom’s family during the wedding which took place in 2023.

The bride’s family had also spent about 4.5 million rupees (RM230,300) on the nuptials. However, the groom’s mother was unsatisfied as she wanted another one million rupees (RM51,000) in dowry and a sports utility vehicle.

This led to her torturing the daughter-in-law physically and mentally, culminating in secretly giving her the injection.

The woman began falling sick and was later diagnosed as HIV positive. Eventually, the police got involved, which led to the arrests of the victim’s husband, mother-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
