BUTTERWORTH: Batu Kawan DAP Youth has condemned Lim Guan Eng's aide Tan Khong Chong over his outburst against Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim.
Batu Kawan DAP Youth chief Liinesh Selluandan said Tan's actions had marred the party's image which holds integrity and discipline in high regard.
"Our stand is clear, as we support Sim as the state chairman and will stand with him.
"We also call for disciplinary action to be taken against Tan, who has contravened party ethics with his open outburst," said Liinesh, who is also national DAP Youth vice-president in a statement on Monday (Feb 15).
It was reported that a close aide of a top DAP leader had berated Sim at the end of an appreciation dinner in honour of party veteran Tan Sri Kim Kit Siang.
In a video which has gone viral the man was heard yelling in Hokkien at first and later heard labelling Sim as "Fan Guat Zai" (traitor) in Cantonese.
Sim however remained unperturbed and continued taking pictures with his supporters.
He played down the incident when contacted.
