Floods: Situation unchanged in Sabah and Sarawak with 309 evacuees as at 8am Feb 14


KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Sabah and Sarawak remains unchanged Friday (Feb 14) morning, with 309 people still taking shelter at three relief centres in both states.

In SABAH, the state disaster management committee secretariat reports that the number of flood victims in Kinabatangan stands at 107 from 29 families, the same as recorded at 8pm Thursday (Feb 13).

"Only one centre is operational in district, and the evacuation trend remains stable this morning,” it said.

In SARAWAK, 202 people are still housed at two relief centres in the Miri division, the only area still affected by the floods.

According to the state disaster management committee secretariat, as of 8 am, Dewan Masyarakat Beluru continues to house 137 evacuees, while SMK Bakong Beluru houses 65. – Bernama
