PETALING JAYA: Three traffic policemen have won the admiration of netizens after a video of them rescuing an injured stray dog went viral on social media.

While on duty, the officers stopped to help the helpless animal trapped in a roadside drain in Bahau Satellite Town, about 3km from the Bahau-Juasseh route, on Thursday.

The dog, frightened and in pain, struggled to move in the drain, making it difficult to approach.

It was believed to have been hit by a vehicle, resulting in a fractured leg and multiple injuries.

In the one-minute, 24-second video posted by Jempol District Police on Facebook, the officers are seen working together to rescue the distressed dog using a plastic bag to lift it out.

Despite the dog's initial fear and attempts to hobble away, the officers gently calmed it to ensure its safety.

The heroic trio — Mohd Rasul Putera Bin Mohd Shahauddin, Mohd Zulhairi Bin Yahaya, and Adrian Johnny — are members of the Jempol District Police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Unit.

They were on a routine patrol when they noticed the struggling dog and decided to intervene.

Their act of kindness has garnered widespread praise, with many social media users commending their dedication to serving the public and caring for vulnerable animals.
