Cops to investigate woman's claim she was sexually harassed while giving her statement

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman has alleged she was sexually harassed while giving a statement to the police regarding a rally held in the capital on Dec 19.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that a report had been received from the complainant expressing dissatisfaction with the conduct of a police officer.

"Further investigation into the report is being conducted by the police. Records show the complainant previously visited a district police headquarters for an investigation into a rally held on Dec 19, which is being investigated under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012," he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 8).

He added that, besides the complainant, eight other individuals were interviewed on the same day.

"This case is still under investigation, and the public is advised not to speculate, as it could disrupt the ongoing investigation," he said.
