No foul play found in death of missing woman, police confirm


PETALING JAYA: No signs of foul play have been found during preliminary investigations into the death of Yong Jia Yein.

Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Azaharudin Tajudin, in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 4), said the body was found inside a grey car parked in a parking lot in Pantai Remis, Jeram.

The police were notified of the discovery at 2am on Tuesday after a patrol car was in the area.

"All doors of the vehicle were locked, and the Fire and Rescue Department was called to assist in removing the body from the car," he said.

"Preliminary investigations show no physical injuries or signs of foul play. The body has been sent to Tanjong Karang Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death," he added.

Previously, a missing person’s report was lodged at 12:36am on Friday (Jan 31) following her disappearance on Jan 29.

Yong Jia Yein, 34 was last seen leaving her home at the Pelangi Utama Condominium. She was driving a blue Proton Iswara with the number plate BDV 1304.
