Heavy rain warnings continue for Sarawak and Sabah


KUALA LUMPUR: Continuous heavy rain is expected in various regions of Sarawak and Sabah, with warnings in effect until Friday (Jan 31).

In Section A, a hazard warning is issued for Sarawak, covering Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sarikei (Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu), and Miri (Subis).

Section B indicates severe rainfall in Sarawak, affecting Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Sebauh), and Miri (Beluru, Miri and Marudi).

In Sabah, areas under severe warning include Pantai Barat (Ranau and Kota Belud), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan), and Kudat.

Section C issues an alert for continuous rainfall in Sabah's Inland (Keningau and Tambunan), Pantai Barat (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran), Tawau (Lahad Datu), and Sandakan (Tongod).

The warnings were issued at 8am on Jan 29, 2025.
