MCA to hold CNY open house on Jan 29

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA will host a Chinese New Year open house from 9am to noon on Jan 29 at Dewan San Choon in Wisma MCA, Jalan Ampang here.

MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon said the party has invited all ministers, deputy ministers, ambassadors, NGOs and various distinguished guests to the open house, which is also open to the public.

“We invite people from all walks of life to join us in celebrating this joyous occasion as it is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese community,” he said in a press conference here yesterday.

“Chinese New Year open house is a significant tradition for MCA.“Apart from a two-year hiatus during the pandemic, the event has consistently been held every year,” he added.

“The open house will feature various activities including a lion dance, dragon dance, Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting, and traditional dances,” he said.

Chong said among the VIPs confirmed to attend are Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, and Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk R. Ramanan.
