Bomba to follow cops' lead on BMI requirement for promotions, says Nga

KUALA LUMPUR: In the near future, Malaysian firefighters will need to maintain a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 28 or below to be eligible for promotions, bringing their standards in line with those of police officers.

Following the police's requirement for promotions, where officers must keep a BMI between 28 and 30, the Fire and Rescue Department aims to introduce a similar target next year, according to Nga Kor Ming, the Housing and Local Government Minister.
