Man in serious condition after fall in Putatan

KOTA KINABALU: A man who fell from his rented room in Putatan is in serious condition.

Penampang OCPD Supt Sammy Newton said they received a call at around 12.20pm on Wednesday (January 15) about a person who fell from the second floor of a building in the Grand Plaza Putatan.

"Based on the report, we sent a unit to respond and found the victim sprawled on the ground," he said.

The victim is a local 38-year-old who rents a room above.

The circumstances of the fall and the victim's actual condition are still unconfirmed, said Supt Sammy.

"We have to wait for the hospital to update us," he added, calling for witnesses to come forward and assist police in their investigations.

He also warned the public against circulating videos or photos of the victim and the alleged incident to protect the sensitivity of the victim and his family.

"This is to also not disrupt our probe," Supt Sammy added.
